Syrian filmmaker Hassan Akkad says living as an asylum seeker is “crushing”.
“At its worst, it’s really agonising,” he said.
“You live in limbo, you live on £5 a day, you can’t access education.”
Mr Akkad told Sky News Australia host Piers Morgan that seeking asylum is a “human right” which is “enshrined in international law”.
“And Britain is now breaking international law,” he said.
